Edit Lists Overview
From your "My Control Panel" page, click the "Edit Lists" icon to bring you to the Edit Lists page.
The purpose of this page is to allow you to select each Item Field from a drop-down list which you have set to use a list on the Add/Edit Item page and then choose to include or exclude values in or from the Add/Edit Item page's drop-down list for the currently selected field. You are also able to set whether each list has new values added to the list when a new value gets entered into the field when saving an Item on the Add/Edit Item page. See also Lists for more info.
Selecting A List
To select a list to edit, open the "Choose a List" drop-down list and select the Item page's Field Name.
* Note * - Some of your Fields marked as "Uses List" on the Edit Fields page may not exist in this drop-down list. The cause of this would be that the particular Field that's missing doesn't have our pre-populated values and you have yet to create an Item with a value added to that Field's list. You can't edit a list that does not yet contain values... and therefore does not yet have a list.
** Note ** - When selecting the "Sub-Category" list to edit, another drop-down list appear prompting you to "Choose a Category to edit its Sub-Category list". Once you choose a Category value, only then will the Sub-Category list show for editing. This is because Category and Sub-Category are parent-child fields meaning that the Sub-Category list has a separate list of values for each parent Category value.
Auto-Add Values Setting
Once you've selected a Field from the drop-down list, you will see two list boxes, one on each side of your screen, with four buttons stacked vertically between them. Above them you will see a "Save Settings" button and a checkbox labeled "Auto-Add Values".
If you deselect, or uncheck, the "Auto-Add Values" checkbox, when adding or editing an Item on the Add/Edti Item page, even though the currently selected Field will have a drop-down list, if you type in a value that does not exist in that drop-down list, the new value will not be added to this Field's list.
If you place a check in the "Auto-Add Values" checkbox, any new values typed into the current Field's input box on the Add/Edit Item page will be added to the list of values in the Field's drop-down list and will be available for selection the next time you access the Add/Edit Item page.
Edit A List
Once you've selected a Field from the drop-down list, you will see two list boxes, one on each side of your screen, with four buttons stacked vertically between them.
Excluded Values - The list box on the left side of the screen will contain values belonging to the selected Field's list that you do not want to appear in the selected Field's drop-down list on the Add/Edit Item page.
Included Values - The list box on the right side of the screen will contain values belonging to the selected Field's list that you do want to appear in the selected Field's drop-down list on the Add/Edit Item page.
Selecting Values - More than one value can be selected in a list at one time using the "Shift" or "Ctrl" keys along with your mouse.
Moving Values - The four buttons stacked vertically between the two list boxes work as follows:
First Button - The top button moves all values residing in the left "Excluded Values" list box to the right "Included Values" list box regardless of value selections.
Second Button - The second button from the top moves the selected value(s) residing in the left "Excluded Values" list box to the right "Included Values" list box.
Third Button - The third button down moves the selected value(s) residing in the right "Included Values" list box to the left "Excluded Values" list box.
Fourth Button - The bottom button moves all values residing in the right "Included Values" list box to the left "Excluded Values" list box regardless of value selections.
Example:
Select multiple values in the "Included Values" list box for the "Manufacturer" Field's list.
Click third button down to move the selected values in the right "Included Values" list box to the left "Excluded Values" list box.
After altering a list's values, click the "Save Settings" button.
